For a long time ABD yoruba keyboard layout created by  Bomi Olamijulo-Oki had been for a lot of Yorùbá authors, including this development team, the defacto keyboard layout while typing Yorùbá text in the Microsoft Operating Sytem(OS) environment. It is based on a US keyboard layout, yet extends it to support all Unicode characters for the Yorùbá language.

The incompatibility of the ABD yoruba keyboard layout setup software in the Microsoft Vista OS had been troubling as the new Powerful systems used in the Oroede Development Group are 64 bit Vista systems.  A solution was arrived by recreating the keyboard layout and generating setup software that will work in all current Microsoft Environment.
